For the new owner of this house who loves retro design and wanted to bring her collection of retro furniture into the new home, we designed a colour palette and retro elements that reflect her personality and style.
A retro-inspired haven that pays homage to the owner's passion for vintage design.
In the retro theme, we have taken the terrazzo floor as a feature style element that is accentuated throughout the entire house through similar pops of colour in the design - from the living area to the bathroom. A neutral base for the interior balances perfectly with the colourful furniture elements throughout the house. The entire interior is connected on all levels, creating a well-balanced home with a retro touch. We have brought a similar colour scheme to the practice situated on the ground floor, to connect the practice to the theme of the house.
The ice blue custom-made kitchen with stainless steel details is the timeless eye-catcher of the living space. For sentimental value, the handles on each cabinet were taken from the owner’s former kitchen. We changed the colour of these handles to create a uniform look for the newly designed kitchen. The colour palette and the materials chosen for the kitchen are brought into the interior of the bedrooms and bathrooms to create a serene whole of natural wood, stone, and steel - with ice blue, burgundy and ochre to accentuate each room.
