Chapters undertook the redesign of a modern house for a family transitioning from a 1930s home, aiming to recreate the warmth and homely feel they cherished.
The redesign reflects a thoughtful and personalised approach, capturing the spirit of the residents in every detail.
We took the dark stone kitchen counter in this modern home as the key element to create the space around the kitchen. With elements of dark wood, rattan, and shades dusty pink, brown and olive, we have transformed the living spaces of this modern place into a homely dreamhouse with a midcentury feel.
For the redesign of this home, we have truly tried to capture the spirit of the residents in the interior. A custom-made wall cabinet transforms into a home office and for the pillar that connects the kitchen with the living room, we have built in a coffee and wine bar with a mosaic wallpaper backwall. To connect the interior with the exterior, we have wrapped all window frames in a fitting shade of brown. The modern fireplace is redesigned in small, handmade tiles, heavy, textured wallpapers are implemented throughout the house and tinted glass is added to the glass doors. The use of different textures and materials adds depth, warmth, and luxury to this midcentury modern house.
