The Eclectic Farm

Einighausen

When two homes become one, an exciting canvas of styles comes together. Our project ‘The English Cottage’ in Einighausen and ‘La Ferme Lanterne’ (also known as The Chapters House) in Wittem are blending interiors together in the charming farmhouse in Einighausen.

Bringing together English classic and modern eclectic.

In the initial design process of The English Cottage, not only the interior came together — the designer and the owner did too!

The interior design concept for the farmhouse was created in ‘old English’ and ‘cosy cabin’ style — a classic approach to design, with dark, wooden elements, heavy textured wallpapers and rich, warm colours implemented throughout the interior. In La Ferme Laterne, the stateliness of the monumental mansion was honoured by using rich materials such as stone, wood, and copper in combination with bold, expressive furniture and eclectic artwork.

When blending two completely different styles in one house, it is important to find common ground. For the classic farmhouse to blend with the modern, eclectic style of The Chapters House, we have chosen marble, bronze and copper tones, and dark wood as the common interior elements that are prominently present in both interiors.

The originally chosen wallpaper for the English Cottage is replaced by a more neutral wallpaper that ties both styles together. In the hallway we have chosen an equally serene wallpaper by William & Morris. The curated designer sofa of The Chapters House is a representation of Joana’s style and authenticity and is brought into the farmhouse in Einighausen, where its bold and expressive features blend perfectly with the grandeur in the other areas of the house, such as the grand kitchen that was designed for entertaining guests. The artwork of The Chapters House is implemented in the interior of the farmhouse to give the overall ‘English Cottage’ look a more contemporary vibe.

As for a splash of colour, both The English Cottage and The Chapters House both have a love for deep purple, which is dominantly present in the combined interior of the farmhouse in Einighausen, which we have lovingly renamed ‘La Ferme’ in honour of La Ferme Lanterne, formerly known as The Chapters House.
