Irusu

Sushi set in Space

Irusu is our dream project, created to show you what we can do. For Irusu, we have redesigned a church into a high-end sushi restaurant. The architectural structure of the church created the base for our concept.

The architectural structure of the church served as the canvas upon which we painted our concept.

Honoring Asian traditions and heritage in the creation of this sushi restaurant, we used traditional Japanese colours such as soft greens in the colour palette, as well as a sober design in the furniture. The brass lighting and paper lanterns set the mood for this extraordinary dining experience in a former church.

Right through the middle of the church, an onyx stone band sets the tone for the restaurant. Like a dragon, the plum velvet sofa winds over the onyx stone and acts as the centerpiece of the restaurant. The create the feeling of a den, we have implemented private dining rooms to enjoy an intimate dinner in a low dining setting, in which tradition comes to life. The altar has been redesigned into a bar. Set in a green onyx stone, it connects the bar area with the main dining area. The mezzanine overlooks the main space and offers more seating.
